Our custom made glass products are perfect for long lasting signage, memorials, information kiosks, public art, and outdoor displays of all types. Glass is extremely durable when it comes to ultraviolet exposure, color retention, and scratch resistance. A custom made glass installation will keep its great looks for many years, long after other materials have noticeably deteriorated.
At Experience Glass, we had the privilege of creating stunning glass donor plaques for Mater Dei Catholic Church, showcasing our commitment to excellence and artistry. Each plaque is a testament to the generosity and support of the church’s community.
Our unique design features two panels of glass: a vibrant colored panel in the back and a clear panel in the front. The clear panel is intricately etched on both sides, creating a captivating, layered effect that beautifully catches and reflects light. This meticulous etching technique ensures that the names and messages engraved on the plaques stand out with elegance and clarity.
We crafted both singular and multiple donor plaques for the church, each one designed to honor and celebrate the contributions of individual donors and groups alike. These plaques not only serve as a lasting tribute but also enhance the aesthetic appeal of the church’s interior, blending seamlessly with its sacred and serene environment.
This project was completed in collaboration with Art Glass and Metal, combining our expertise to achieve remarkable results. All panels were meticulously created in our studio in Carlsbad, ensuring the highest quality and craftsmanship.
Explore the artistry and craftsmanship behind these plaques through the photos below, and see how we at Experience Glass transform recognition into a work of art.
Our studio had the honor of designing and fabricating an etched glass memorial wall for the National Cemetery of the Pacific, located on the island of Oahu in the Hawaiian Islands. This tribute commemorates the 33 Medal of Honor recipients interred there, featuring their etched photographs on four grand bronze glass panels, standing majestically within a metal framework.
The memorial spans an impressive 8 feet in height and 8 feet in width. Alongside the etched photos of the honored veterans, the top panel proudly displays the Medal of Honor insignias for the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
The memorial is set within a breathtaking landscape, nestled in the bowl of an ancient volcanic crater on the outskirts of Honolulu. Visitors are treated to stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, the city of Honolulu, and Pearl Harbor. The location itself is a testament to the serenity and reverence befitting such a sacred site.
This project was a collaboration between our studio and Jay from Art Glass and Metal who’s a combat disabled veteran himself . Our long-standing partnership has yielded numerous seamless and extraordinary projects, combining our unique talents to produce art of the highest caliber.
I had the pleasure of working with Miki Iwasaki on the Graham Downes Memorial project, a tribute to the renowned architect. Collaborating closely, Miki envisioned a tower made of glass, metal, and concrete, symbolizing strength and transparency and thus came to Experience Glass for help on this project.
For this project, we created a 4-inch thick solid slab of ultra-clear fused glass. This impressive piece stands tall in Pacific Beach, CA, in front of Tower 23 Hotel, one of Graham Downes' last architectural masterpieces. The creation of these glass panels was a meticulous process, requiring several days in our kilns to achieve the desired clarity and strength.
The lit glass tower now serves as a stunning piece of art on the boardwalk next to Tower 23 Hotel, capturing the essence of Graham Downes' legacy and adding beauty to the coastal landscape.
